ADINKRA
Adinkra represents the language(proverbs) of our ancestors woven into our fabrics as a means of communication. It also serves as proverbs originating from West Africa, Ghana.
The Asante people of Ghana use Adinkra to express the connection between the verbal and the visual in Akan culture. Adinkra symbols appear on wooden ornaments, jewelry etc.
This series is a homage my Ghanaian cultural heritage.
